Desiccated Liver - The Wonder Food

Desiccated Liver Improves Endurance

Benjamin H. Ershoff Ph.D. performed an experiment with rats in order to test an anti-fatigue diet. He thought that there was some factor in liver that might produce energy. He experimented with three groups of rats, feeding them for 12 weeks, as much as they desired of three different diets:

GROUP 1 -- ate a basic diet, fortified with 9 synthetic and 2 natural vitamins.
GROUP 2 -- ate the same diet with added B-Complex.
GROUP 3 -- ate the same diet, but instead of B-Complex, 10% Desiccated Liver was added.

The outcome: Group 1had little growth. Group 2 experienced a little higher rate of growth. Group 3 showed a 15% increase in growth over group one.

Another test for fatigue was researched. The rats were placed into a drum of water from which they were
unable to escape. They had to keep swimming or drown. Group 1 lasted about 13 minutes. Group 2 lasted about the same length of time. However, most of the rats in Group 3 (who had the liver extract) were still swimming at the end of a 2-hour period. The rats in Group 3, who consumed Desiccated Liver swam almost 10 times as long as the others, without becoming exhausted.

No longer was fish fried in lard, no longer were cakes made with suet. Animal fats (containing little omega 6) were out and vegetable oils were in.
